click for larger imageOver the "puna" (highland) we encounter some vicuna.  Vicuna are related to llamas and alpacas, but have finer wool, are wild and protected by the peruvian government.

click for larger imageNazca lines.  We are observing from a tower about 40 feet over the ground and beside the highway.

click for larger imageThe highway was built before the lines were discovered so it cuts right through a couple of the figures.  What looks like a hand (near Denise's) is one part of one of the figures cut in half.

click for larger imageDessert?  I got yer dessert right here.  The peruvian dessert is truly desolate.  Not at all like the California desserts.
