The manager best pharmacy magazines Prof Prieser and his colleagues have previously found that the MERS-CoV is related to coronaviruses found in European Pipistrellus bats. Now they have found an even closer relative to MERS-CoV in a South African bat species called Neoromicia cf. zuluensis, an inhabitant of the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. Their research was published earlier this week in the journal Emerging Infectious Diseases.
