I donate blood every 8 weeks at Boston Children&#8217;s Hospital, and the questionnaire they make you fill out at every visit leaves a lot of people off the list. With the advanced screening techniques available, I&#8217;m not sure why we need to exclude people when it&#8217;s hard enough to get people to donate in the first place. Other people who are excluded: those who have spent 3  years out of the USA, those who received blood transfusions during certain years, those who have had a dura mater graft, women who have ever had sex with a man who has had sex with a man&#8230; the list goes on.
